At 3:41 PM MST, NWS meteorologists were tracking a strong thunderstorm near Cave Creek, or near New River, moving west at 15 mph.
Winds in excess of 40 MPH will be possible with this storm along with brief but very heavy rain.
Locations impacted include: North Phoenix, North Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, Cave Creek, Carefree, New River, Anthem and Lake Pleasant, according to a Special Weather Statement by the National Weather Service.
